Another great question! I imagine either I will work until I am forced to become an emeritus professor (you get to work but don’t really get paid if i understand that title correctly) or lack of funding will force me into a new career path whether I want to change or not.
I can’t imagine not working. I love learning new things everyday! That said, by the time i’m 65, the retirment age will probably be 90 because we will all be living to 120!
I’m not sure I do want to retire! I love what I do! I imagine that when I’m winding down towards the end of my career I will still be involved in science in one way or another. Even if I reduce the amount of lab work I do, I still want to learn more and talk about science!

I will retire when I’m dead.
