Question: What’s the best question anyone has ever asked you

Keywords: ,

  1. in this competition? I think the question which has got me thinking the most has been the one about how mosquitos infect humans and amimals with malaria parasites.

as mosquitos only carry the malaria parasite from feeding on an infected blood source, and humans and animals can only be infected by being bitten by a mosquito carry the parasite? how did the first animal get infected with the parasite? it’s a bit of a chicken or the egg situation.

  2. I really liked being asked questions about how my research is going to contribute towards saving lives and better treatments. Sometimes its easy to get lost in the fun of science and discovering new things, but its always important to remember the bigger picture and why we are doing it. I want to understand how DNA is regulated by on and off switches, to me that is really cool the way DNA moves and is dynamic. But the overall goal of why I am doing it is to understand the processes happening in the cell and how that changes in cancer.
