We work really hard, and we have to be very good at time management to make the most of every day! Some days I run 4 or 5 experiments at once so i can get as much done as possible!
I love what I do and I work really really hard to discover new things so I get a lot of work done, but often takes a really long time to discover something new. Experiments can take several days to complete, sometimes they don’t work and you have to start over, and you often have to repeat experiments several times to make sure you have the correct answer. You need to be so sure of your answer that if someone else wanted to follow the instructions to your experiment and repeat what you did they would get the same result too. However, its definitely rewarding when you something new and it makes all the time spent worth it!
I hope to contribute to changing public perception on cancer so its not as scary anymore. I hope that medical advances make more cancers treatable and I want to do research that contributes to that,
