Question: How many blood cells are in the average human body?

    Trillions! some are “red” and they only last 3 months before the breakdown and need to be replaced by your bone marrow. these are the ones which carry the oxygen via iron in the haemoglobin groups in the cells. the “white” cells can last a lot longer, and these are the cells that help us defend aganst infections and there are lots of different types.

    It is very difficult to give an exact number chloeisamazing but a healthy person who weighs ~70kg should have about 30 trillion blood cells.
