Very good question waffles. In overall animals are adapting more rapidly to climate change than humans.Different species react in different ways though. Some animals may migrate to cooler areas due to lack of food. For example, desertification in Africa led to the re-distribution of grassland animals, such as lions, elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, baboons, wilder-beast, etc, they moved South from the Sahel, to where the grasslands were still prosperous and there were sources of water.
Those who cannot adapt will die and only animals that have characteristics suited for the environment survive.
