Excellent question waffles – I don’t know! When I’m working with rats and mice, I receive a professional assistance from proper animal surgeons in preparation of animal so I assume they must know it – I’ll ask them this week. Good question though, I didn’t think about that before.
Though, I do know that dogs have ~12 blood types but luckily they don’t have strong antibodies against other blood types therefore first-time blood transfusion between dogs (even they have different blood types) do not cause any reaction.
