Question: Do you think your experiment will be a success ? Do you think it'll be popular , why?

  1. I always start my experiments thinking they will work. Sometimes they don’t but in the end, we usually find a way to get them working. Once you have enough data to put together a scientific “story” of what is going on in the system/cell you are studying you write it up as a paper and try to get it published. So far i have about 10 of these and a chapter in a book as well. People who are interested in the same area of research may do a special type of websearch only for medical articles, and they might read your work. If they liked it, they will then reference you in their papers too. We have programs which keep track of how many times articles are referenced or cited. One of my papers from 2009 has had over 50 references which is pretty good!

My current work is currently being discussed with an editor from a very popular journal, so I hope that soon it will be published and many people will read it and it will help them with their own research.
