Question: How much does the disease your studying affect a person?

Keywords: ,

  1. A bacterial infection such as streptococcus pneumonaie can make a person very sick. it affects their respiratory systme, meaning it attacks their lungs, throat and nose and makes it hard for them to breathe, they cough a lot, and they can have fluid filling up their lungs. It can also get into the blood and this can really make you sick.

Without treatment, many people die from this infection. In Australia we have excellent healthcare, and we have access to a vaccination for streptococcus penumoniae (although this doesnt protect you against every strain it is better than nothing) so most people survive an infection if they are young and healthy. In places like africa and India, where healthcare is not so available and affordable for everyone, hundreds of thousands die every year this infection

  2. Cancer and allergies can effect some people quite a lot and others not so much. It depends on the allergy and the type of cancer. Even when you are only mildly effected by the disease it can still be uncomfortable so I hope to help as many people as I can.

  3. Cardiovascular and cardirespiratory diseases that I’m primarily working are No.1 cause of death worldwide. Some of them can cause “sudden death”s which is very hard to prevent.
