Question: Do people get breast cancer/cancer from radiation? Or something else?

exposure to radiation can cause cells to become cancerous, but most people aren’t exposed to enough radiation in their daily lives for this to happen. Scientists dont know all of the reasons why women (and men!) get breast cancer. They know it is likely a mix of exposure to thing in the environment, in our diet, and our genes. They know that two specific genes means your chance of getting breast cancer goes up a lot! these are called BRCA1 and BRCA2. they also increase your chance of ovarian cancer. scientists have found other genes as well, but none give as high a risk, or found in so many people as BRCA1 and 2
