Question: How is your research going to help with cancer and will is help all cancers or some cancers??

The gene I’m currently working on a gene which is important for breast and ovarian cancer. We currently know very little about what this gene actually does in our cells. We actually know so little that this gene has a temporary name until we know more about what it does.

My project is looking at how this gene is turned on and off because if we know under what circumstance it is needed and not needed we can start to think about what the function is. When we know the function we can start to thinking about how it affects breast and ovarian cancer. Then perhaps if it is playing a role in other cancers it has not been identified in yet.
