Question: is it true that i came from monkeys?/

Just because we have similar DNA does that still mean we evolved from them (monkeys) I mean how to you know we evolved?

It is true that monkeys and humans have a lot of genetic similarities, ie a lot of our DNA is the same or very similar. But then, pig skin is the closest to human skin of all animals. Scientists have a lot of data to support their theory that we evolved from primates, but questions still remain unanswered. If we evolved from monkeys why are there still monkeys around?
Maybe they are 100% right. maybe it’s why i keep calling my nephew monkey.
Whilst the evidence right now seems to suggest evolution is the best canidate for how we came to be, scientists are very good at doing more research and many years later showing more data that completely disproves the previous evidence. After all, scientists said for hundreds of years that the sun moved around the earth, until Galileo Galilei came along and proved that copernicus’ theory was right. We move around the sun.
So who knows?

As Miranda said, we have very similar DNA and by comparing our genes with monkey genes and other animal genes it can help to understand more about ourselves. For example, if we can’t figure out what a protein inside people does, we can look at similar proteins in monkeys and if we know what the similar protein does we can have a guess at what the one in people does. As for if we ever same from monkeys? I guess our future scientists will help figure it out 🙂
