Question: can you remove DNA and tranfer it to another body?

Keywords: ,

  1. Are you asking if I could take some of your DNA and put it into another person?

You could, but it wouldn’t do anything. Human DNA is inert; it can’t do anything on it’s own. The body breaks down foriegn DNA using special enzymes called DNases. You have lots of these in your saliva and on your skin, to break down the DNA of viruses you might come in to contact with. For the DNA to have any effect, it would have to get all the way into the nucleus of the cell intact! Your body has lots of other natural defences to stop DNA doing this.
